Women vs Machines / 11-16 April 2025

Role: Producer & Co-Curator

In celebration of the Paris Summer Olympics and Novembre Numérique (NN), the Lahore Digital Arts Festival (LDF) organised The Women vs Machines exhibition, which was held from 11 to 16 April 2025 at the School of Visual Arts & Design (SVAD), Beaconhouse National University (BNU) in Lahore.

It was an occasion to launch the Lahore Digital Arts Festival’s 2025–26 programming under the banner of Novembre Numérique. A collaborative endeavour between LDF, BNU, the French Embassy in Pakistan, Alliance Française de Lahore, Institut Français, UNESCO Chair on Inclusion through Art (led by Prof. Rashid Rana), and The Little Art, the show was produced by Najam-Ul Assar and co‑curated by Sarah Rajper, Rohma Khan, and Fatima Butt.

It featured works by nine women digital artists—Amna Yaseen, Anusha Khalid, Audrey Richard‑Laurent, Emil Hasnain, Justine Emard, Mahnoor Ali Shah, Tehreem Zafar, Vania Mazhar, and Zainab Hussain—and five prominent women athletes—Jehanara Nabi, Karishma Ali, Noorena Shams, Samar Khan, and Zenith Irfan—who together explored the convergences of gender, technology, and sports through digital art, athletic activism, performance, and visual culture.
